St-Donat: SOLD OUT!

Thanks to the terrific response from grade 9 families, the St-Donat trip taking place from February 8-11, 2015 is completely full.  Originally, OTHS had 40 spaces available to us; however, Perspectives has been able to open up 5 more spaces to us!   All 45 spaces are now spoken for-- we're thrilled!  We have a great mix of core and immersion students who will be travelling with us.

Along with myself, the French teacher chaperones will be Mme. Durand, M. Vidal, and Mme. Waller.

Please don't forget about the 2 upcoming payments (if you haven't paid already) which can be made on our cashless website-- the next one is due on November 7!

St-Donat Parent Meeting-- Date Change: Now on October 15

Due to the Oakville All-Candidates meeting taking place next week at OTHS, the parent information session for our grade 9 French trip to St-Donat, Quebec will now take place on Wednesday, October 15 at 7:00 pm in the library.  Looking forward to meeting with many parents then!

Dear Parents of Grade 9 French Students,

I am thrilled to announce that an incredible educational experience for your son/ daughter has been approved for this school year: for the second year in a row, the Moderns Department at OTHS has planned a 4-day excursion to St-Donat, Quebec through Perspectives Eduscho Ltd. 

The trip is open to any student enrolled in French in grade 9 this year (first or second semester).  We will be travelling from Sunday, February 8 until Wednesday, February 11, 2014. 

You are invited to attend an important parent information session in our school library at OTHS on Wednesday, October 8 at 6:30 pm.  A representative from Perspectives, along with myself, will be present to go over the details of the trip, and to answer any questions you may have.

Welcome back!

Welcome/ welcome back to OT!

I'm looking forward to a great year with all of you, and I can't wait to meet all of our Belgian/ French exchange students who will be here for the first half of semester 1.  If you don't know about this exchange yet, and have any questions, come see me in workroom 206 at any point and I will gladly fill you in!

As well as French, I'm also looking forward to teaching English as a Second Language this year.  This is the first time that OT is offering ESL, and Ms. Logan and I are excited to offer this opportunity.

And the performance tasks continue...

Each of my classes are now well underway with their end-of-semester performance tasks.  Keep up the hard work—we’re almost done!

Je suis tellement fier de tout ce que vous faites, mes élèves!  Les presentations pour ma classe d’immersion commenceront ce jeudi (le 12 juin), et les entrevues pour mes classes de français cadre auront lieu ce jeudi, vendredi, et lundi prochain.  Et—à la fin de la semaine prochaine—on écrit les examens!  Vous verrez l’horaire pour mes examens sur ce site (il faut voir le prochain message).  Bon courage!  

Exam schedule

The exam schedule for semester 2 has been finalized.  I have posted a copy in my classroom (on the side board).  

Our final day of regular classes is June 18.  Exams take place on the 19th (period 5 exam), the 20th (period 2 exam), the 23rd (period 1 exam), and the 24th (period 3/4 exam).  All exams begin at 9 am sharp.

Exam review day will take place on Thursday, June 26.  A special (shortened) schedule will be in place on that particular day.

Springfest-- Switched to Tuesday!

Due to weather, Springfest has been postponed until next Tuesday (the day we return from the long weekend).  The schedule for the day is as follows:

Period 1:          8:15 - 9:15

Period 2:          9:20 - 10:25

Period 3:          10:30 - 11:30

Springfest!!       11:30 - 12:45

Period 4:          12:50 - 1:45

Period 5:          1:50 - 2:50
